To enhance the level of service provided to Antelope Valley residents, Waste Management encourages residents to drop off household hazardous wastes at the Antelope Valley Environmental Collection Center (AVECC). Funded entirely by a “2001/2002 Used Oil Opportunity Grant” from the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB), the $700,000 facility is the area’s first permanent Environmental Collection Center. This residential special material collection facility will serve the needs of Antelope Valley residents for free, helping to discourage the improper disposal of household hazardous wastes that can endanger our community and environment.
The center is open to the public on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month, from 9 am until 3 pm, and is located at 1200 W. City Ranch Road in Palmdale. For more information, visit http://dpw.lacounty.gov/epd/hhw/AboutAvecc or call 1-888-CLEAN LA.
At the AVECC residents can dispose of household hazardous waste (e.g., paint, oil and batteries), as well as old electronics (e.g., TVs, monitors, computers and printers).
No business or commercial waste will be accepted.
