BACKYARD COLLECTION
Carts can be collected from backyards for an additional fee, or no fee for qualifying disabled individuals. Call (510) 613-8710 for details.
BATTERY RECYCLING
Household batteries (AAA, AA, B, C, D & small button batteries), including rechargeable and cell phone batteries, can be recycled. Place batteries in a sealed clear plastic bag on top of the blue recyclables cart.
CART SETOUT GUIDELINES
Residential collections are Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Do not overload carts and bins; lids must close. Overage fees may apply to overflowing containers.
HOLIDAY TREE-CYCLING PICKUP
Trees are picked up curbside during the first two weeks of January, on your regular pickup day. Remove all decorations, tinsel, nails, stands, and lights. Trees larger than 6 feet tall must be cut.
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE (HHW)
Please visit https://www.stopwaste.org/at-home/household-hazardous-waste for a list of hazardous waste, locations, and hours. Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Program available to Alameda County residents.
MOTOR OIL & FILTER COLLECTION
Place filled motor oil recycling jug and filter bag curbside, next to your trash cart. Do not place motor oil and filter in any of the collection carts. Call WM at (510) 613-8710 to have a free used motor oil jug and bag delivered to you.
ON-CALL BULKY PICKUP
You call, we’ll haul. Call (510) 613-8710 to schedule an individual pickup twice per year at your convenience. Please call at least two weeks in advance to schedule. Watch for guidelines in the mail.
