Additional Recycling Programs

Bulky Item Pick-up (City of Corning residential customers only)

You may request 3 items per quarter to be picked up on the 2nd Friday of the quarter. Please call Customer Service at 530-824-4700 one week in advance to arrange for a pick up.

2022 Bulky Dates: Jan 14, April 8, July 8, Oct 14

Drop off: Take items to the Corning Disposal office the 2nd Friday during Feb, March, may, June, Aug, Sept, Nov & Dec. Provide proof of residency (trash, water or phone bill) reequired.

Acceptable Bulky Items
Restriction: Three (3) Bulky Goods (e.g., TV, couch, or water heater) per household per year. Up to 4 cubic yards of bagged waste is also allowable.

Non-Acceptable Bulky Items
Household Hazardous Waste (such as paint, oil and batteries), spas, piano, camper shells, cast iron bathtubs or items requiring more than two persons to safely handle.

Household Hazardous Waste

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) is any product labeled: toxic, poison, corrosive, flammable, combustible or irritant. These include many common hazardous waste items such as paint, batteries, oil, and pesticides. These products, if mishandled, can be dangerous to your health and the environment, and therefore should be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. Also, these materials should never be discarded in a sink, storm drain or in your regular trash.
